Bulgaria #RJWeek Film Screening ‘A Conversation’

Our Bulgarian member Dobrinka Chankova is planning a special event on the occasion of the #RJWeek! This includes an information campaign, the film screening of ‘A Conversation‘ and a debate. The title of this one day event is ‘RESTORATIVE JUSTICE –AN INSTRUMENT FOR IMPROVED PROTECTION OF CRIME VICTIMS’.

Restorative justice is long time in the Law Faculty curriculum. However, in other faculties and in society it still needs promotion. Dobrinka and her team plan to organize a large scale event, with many guests, to make the benefits of RJ more popular and visible.

The event will be in Bulgarian-English and it will be advertised using the #RJWeek logo and promotional materials.

Some news after the event! The #rjweek in Bulgaria has been a success! Thanks to EFRJ member Dobrinka Chankova for organising it.

• Informative materials were distributed as part of the campaign ‘#restorativejustice: an instrument for improving the protection of #crimevictims’ at university and in court.
• The film A CONVERSATION was screened for about 30 students at the Law Faculty, followed by a discussion.
• Finally a public discussion was organised in Court for 50 magistrates, lawyers, representatives of public institutions and students. Everyone expressed a positive attitude and willingness for action in favor of mediation and RJ.

The local newspaper STRUMA published an article and pictures about the event.
