On Friday 10 May in Breda (The Netherlands), our Board member Bart Claes will give the inaugural lecture “Transmuraal Herstelgericht Werken” (in Dutch, transmural restorative works) from the Expertisecentrum Veiligheid (expertise center for security).
The focus is on the link between the forced and voluntary reintegration process of people coming out of detention. In his speech Bart will refer to Transmural Restorative Works for providing a more complete answer to the reintegration and care of these citizens, taking also into account their (self-) restoration and as well as the restoration of the victim, social networks and the (local) community.
Among the participants of this research group that will work together in the upcoming years, there will be EFRJ founder Ivo Aertsen, Professor of Restorative Justice and Victimology at the KU Leuven.
In the next 5 years Bart will conduct research with the Dutch Prison Service.
