Also Sardinia, Italy is celebrating the international #RJWeek 2018! On 21-27-28 -29 November in Tempio Pausania, our board member Patrizia Patrizi (chair of social and juridical psychology, Department of Humanistic and Social Studies of the University of Sassari) and her Team of Restorative Practices, in collaboration with PLUS municipalities of Tempio Pausania organizes “La settimana della Giustizia Riparativa 2018”.
On 21 November the Team will present to high school classes the project proposed by the chair of social and juridical psychology in the department of humanistic and social studies of the University of Sassari, in collaboration with PLUS municipalities of Tempio Pausania. The Team will build workshops following the restorative practices, to encourage a peaceful management of conflict and an active participation in establishing relational communities.
The event includes training addressed to the social services of Tempio Pausania and PLUS municipalities under the RJ’s paradigm. The aim is to share the intervention model of Servizio Riparativo di counseling psicologico” (restorative service of psychological counseling) in agreement with the needs and resources of different territories.
On 27-28 November the class will screen and discuss the films launched by the EFRJ on the occasion of the RJ Week 2018 (Electra meets Clytemnestra, Expanding the Restorative Imagination e The Encounter). Brunilda Pali (also EFRJ Board member) will be the guest visiting professor during the social psychology and restorative practices class.
The RJ Week will end with the IX Conferenza Riparativa Cittadina (IX Community Restorative Conference) in the Nuchis Correctional Institute’s conference room, in the presence of the prisoners and the representatives of local authorities, citizens, university students, volunteers, teachers, social workers, educators, judicial authority, lawyers, judges who work together for the development of an inclusive and supportive community.
During this last conference in Nuchis, “La luna del pomeriggio” will be presented, a book produced by Giovanni Gelsomino together with a group of prisoners who collected their critical-introspective testimonies. The book developed in the creative writing class is a tool for fighting the temptation to choose the path of illegality. The project is part of the wider program of “Tempio Cittá Riparativa”. The book will be sent free to selected high school institutions in cities in the region.
