On 1 March, our chair Tim Chapman participated in the launch event in Ireland of the policy initiative “Strategies for Change”, together with our members Ian Marder (Maynooth University) and Ursula Fernee (RJ and Victim Services and Probation Service, and members of the EFRJ Policy Network) and about 100 people from policy, practice and research who participated in this very successful consultation at Maynooth University.
The initiative “Strategies for Change” involved 10 countries supported by the EFRJ to develop strategies to influence the law and policy on implementing restorative justice. A meeting bringing together experts from the different countries will take place in Dublin on 25-26 April. In the meanwhile, each country is encouraged to organise a similar stakeholders’ consultation on what are the needs in terms of RJ and criminal justice reforms in their country.
Many or the invited experts in the initiative “Strategies for Change” will be at the EFRJ Symposium (Bilbao, 5-6 June): meet us there to know more. For more info contact EFRJ Director Edit Torzs.
