Our vice-chair Annemieke Wolthuis will deliver a training on the use of RJ in cases of domestic violence for Dutch mediators (5 September at Verwey-Jonker institute in Utrecht, The Netherlands). For this training she will collaborate with Katinka Lunnemann and two mediators who will deliver a case study.
Annemieke and Katinka were the researchers of the EU funded project coordinated by the Verwey Jonker Instituut in 2014-2016: “Restorative Justice in cases of domestic violence: Best practice examples between increasing mutual understanding and awareness of specific protection needs”.
The training will be based on the guide published within the project on the minimum standards on the use of RJ in these cases. Mediators working in penal cases will be taught during a full-day training about domestic violence, its forms, backgrounds and aspects that need attention whenever a mediation is offered and initiated.
