Fringe meeting in Belfast, Thursday 12 June (5-7pm)
Developing Restorative Approaches in Schools and other Educational Settings
Chairperson: Belinda Hopkins, European Circle for Restorative Educators
The EFRJ is happy to invite you to the fringe meeting “Developing Restorative Approaches in Schools and other Educational Settings”, chaired by Belinda Hopkins during the 8th international conference of the EFRJ in Belfast! Below, you can read a brief introduction on the fringe meeting and the plans of the European Circle for Restorative Educators:
“The European Circle for Restorative Educators is currently a loose-knit network of people from all over Europe working to introduce a restorative culture into educational settings. As an organisation it is still developing and we have lots to do. We currently have a LinkedIn page and a small website. We invite all who work restoratively in educational settings in Europe to join us for a Fringe meeting to help us move forward. We need volunteers to help form an initial Steering Group so we can take steps to develop on a more formal footing.
We need people who have experience of setting up not-for-profit organisations, developing constitutions, raising funds, building and maintaining websites, administrating small groups such as ours and using social media to spread the word across Europe. In this way we can offer maximum support to the many projects now emerging, as well as making links with related organisations in the fields of mediation, peace education, conflict resolution, citizenship, violence and bullying reduction, health and wellbeing etc.”
Feel free to join the fringe meeting and actively contibute to the challening and great plans of the European Circle for Restorative Educators! See you all in Belfast!
