On 14 June, the EFRJ has been invited to participate in the workshop on the protection and support for victims of elder abuse organised by the AGE Platform Europe. The event has been organised to celebrate the 12th World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
The workshop will gather together about 20 participants from victim support organisations, researchers and representatives of the European Commission and Council of Europe with the aim to identify a set of recommendations for victim support organisations to provide better services to older persons who suffered abuse and violence and to further contribute to the implementation of the Victims Directive 2012.
The EFRJ will be represented by Emanuela Biffi in the afternoon session entitled ‘Interventions to support and protect victims of elder abuse: advantages and limits’. The morning session will be dedicated instead to the identification of specific needs and available rights to this specific group on vulnerable victims.
