The Confederation of European Probation (CEP)* and the Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic (who will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2015) will jointly organise a conference on the use of RJ during probation, the use of mediation between offender and victim during the criminal proceeding and counselling, and the support and cooperation for the victim within the probation service (23-25 September 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic). More info here.
The CEP conference’s theme is related to one of the latest EU-funded projects coordinated by the EFRJ between 2012 and 2014, entitled ‘Desistance and Restorative Justice: mechanisms for desisting from crime within restorative justice practices‘. Its research coordinator, Dr Katrien Lauwaert, will participate in this conference to present her research findings.
*Together with Europris and the EFRJ, CEP is one of the three organisations of the ‘Criminal Justice Platform (CJP)’ which addresses criminal justice issues in Europe. The CJP will organise a ‘Jihadist Radicalization Event’ in Barcelona on 14 October 2015. More information will be available soon on the EFRJ website.
