On 3 April 2014 our partners Veronika Hofinger and Walter Hammerschick (IRKS) welcomed almost 30 mediators, delegates from the Ministry of Justice, academics, prosecutors and judges at the Austrian Ministry of Justice in Vienna. Together with four invited experts, the participants commented in a one day workshop the preliminary results of the Desistance and RJ project. Based on these outcomes, a discussion was launched on the possibilities of extension of the diversionary mediation practice in Austria to more serious cases and to post-sentence mediation.
