As announced since few months already, the EFRJ is organising its 10th international conference next year (Tirana 14-16 June 2018). The three main themes focus on the use of RJ in criminal justice, juvenile justice and social movement areas. In this way we hope to include as many people interested in RJ principles and practices in different fields. By 1 November, we received more than 80 abstract proposals and the scientific committee already informed all speakers about their participation! About 60 proposals have been confirmed and more will come before the next deadline, 7 January 2018.
The EFRJ also announced two more innovative ideas to fit different needs and expertise within our membership and beyond:
- a 1.5 day intensive training course on RJ in serious crime will be offered to about 25 participants before the conference (12-13 June) to give the chance to experienced mediators to know more about the way people involved in serious crime are prepared to take part and engage in a RJ encounter
- a all series of workshops during the conference will be dedicated to the basics of RJ (lead by the EFRJ team) to give the chance to less experienced professionals to know more about principles, values, practices and applications of RJ
These new innovative workshops will be part of the full Conference Package, which includes, as usual, plenary sessions by well-known international speakers and about 10 parallel workshops lead by participants (mostly EFRJ members) with presentations, testimonies, dialogues, panels, film screenings all in the field of RJ!
And now, a final important news concerning our EFRJ Conference in Tirana: registrations are open! Special discounts are reserved to EFRJ members, especially if these are organisational or student members of the EFRJ! The fee includes the participation to the different sessions, the conference materials, coffees and lunches, the opening reception and the European RJ Award Ceremony. Do not miss this opportunity to take part of our growing international RJ community.
