EFRJ Board member Bart Claes initiated a new 5-year partnership with the Dutch Prison Service, especially with the prison of Dordrecht and The Avans University of Applied Studies.
The goal of this partnership will be on how to create a more victim-oriented and restorative-focused prison. Restorative work with prisoners supports them to desist from crime, restores their relationship with their social network, victims and broader society.
The topic of restorative work in prisons will also be addressed in the EFRJ Symposium “From Penal Mediation to Restorative Justice” (Bilbao 5-6 June).
