Seminar on trauma awareness and resilience

A seminar and discussion with Donna Minter, PhD, on ‘Strategies for trauma awareness and resilience and its application to the United States’ Legacy of Enslavement’ was organised by Daria Nashat, former director of the EFRJ, on 2 September (12:15-13:45) at the KU Leuven Institute of Criminology.

Donna Minter, PhD, LP, Founder & Executive Director, Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute (aka Peacebuilding),completed her psychology internship and post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology and neuropsychology at the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1997. For 19 years she has practiced neuropsychology and conducted court-ordered competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility evaluations in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  In 2010 she brought Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience (STAR) to Minnesota, a training integrating concepts of neurobiology, restorative justice, trauma healing and resilience, nonviolent conflict transformation and broadly-defined spirituality. In 2013, she founded Peacebuilding, a non-sectarian nonprofit organization that administers STAR-related community and professional continuing education trainings.  Peacebuilding has over 800 graduates of its single and multi-day trainings.
